Writer Profile
Jake Holden
Editor-in-Chief, AlphaMode
Editor-in-Chief. Signs off on every piece on the site.
Jake Holden is the editor-in-chief of AlphaMode. He sets editorial direction across all eight beats the magazine covers — cars, sports, tech, money, style, culture, fitness, relationships — and signs off on every piece before it publishes. Over a decade in independent journalism shaped the editorial philosophy here: long-form over listicle, primary sources over secondary repetition, and tested-it-myself over rewrote-the-press-release. He writes the weekly From the Editor column and edits the cars and money beats personally.
The editorial philosophy is straightforward. Lifestyle publishing is drowning in machine-generated 800-word summaries scraped from other 800-word summaries, and the men reading these sites — guys thinking about a first investment, picking out a watch, training for a marathon, learning how to ask for a raise — deserve writing that takes them seriously. AlphaMode publishes two or three pieces a week we are willing to defend, not ten we have to apologize for. Every claim needs a source. Every product review needs a hands-on. Every correction we issue lives in public on the corrections page.
On the record: Jake reads every reader email sent to info@luba.media. Story tips, factual corrections, on-the-record interviews, and substantive disagreements all reach the same inbox. The standards he edits to are published in full on the editorial standards page, and the magazine's masthead, ownership, and corrections record are kept current on the masthead and about pages. AlphaMode is published by Luba Media, S.L., registered in Spain.

From the Editor: Why we’re here
The launch column. A note from the editor on what AlphaMode is for, what it is not, what we will and will not publish, and why the men’s lifestyle web needed another magazine. The first piece in a recurring weekly column.
